Welcome to part one of a two part series on free samples. Part one answers a few questions I often hear about free samples and part two is all about where to get samples as well as some of my most useful tips.
It is so much fun to find great deals and even more fun to get things for free so when I found out that you can actually get free stuff delivered your mailbox I jumped at the chance. I was honestly a bit skeptical at first, but I went ahead anyway because I figured I didn’t really have anything to lose.
It was about a year ago when I started signing up for freebies and I am so glad that I did. Each time something new comes it feels like Christmas as I open up the package with anticipation to see what’s inside. There was even one time that I got five different packages in the mail on the same day, all with free stuff!
That being said, I know there is a lot of questions lurking around in the back of your mind about getting free samples in the mail, so here are my answers to what I consider to be the top three questions about free samples.
Top Three Questions About Free Samples
1. Is it safe?
This is probably the question I hear the most, and it is a legitimate concern. The short answer is, yes. If you are using a reputable site, you should not be concerned about your safety. When signing up for free samples the most information you need to give is your name, address, email and sometimes phone number and birthday.
Please keep in mind that it is NEVER a good idea to give out your social security number to ANYONE…EVER (unless of course it has to do with your bank, a background check or something like that, but you know what I mean). If they are asking for this, it is a scam. Run far, far away! On that note, I would steer very clear of anything asking for bank account information too.
For more about whether signing up for free samples is safe, see this post by Money Saving Mom. She answered this question on her blog a while ago, so check that out if you still have questions or concerns.
2. Does it really work?
Yes. You can actually get free things in your mailbox. I am proof that it does work. The picture above shows only some of the free samples that I have received. Many things I’ve used already or forgot to add when taking these pictures.
3. What can you get for free?
Well, lets see. There are samples for tons of things but mostly food, beverage, health and beauty or household items. You can even get full size products or coupons for free full size products. Here’s a look at some of the things I have been able to get for free.
Now, I am sure your next question is; where do you go to sign up for all this free stuff!?! Well I am glad you asked because part two is about where to get free samples and a few tips to keep in mind. Stay tuned for that post.
In the meantime, start dreaming about all the awesome stuff you could be getting in your mailbox.
